evie muir osteopathy treating a patient with back pain

About Osteopathy

Osteopathy is a gentle hands on approach to treatment that looks at the body as a whole.

We focus on addressing the root cause of the problem instead of just treating the symptoms.  Our aim is to reduce pain and improve mobility to ensure you get back to what you love doing as quickly as possible.

Osteopathy uses a variety of techniques from massage, mobilisations  and manipulations, to sports taping and rehab exercises. We will structure a treatment plan to suit your needs and expectations.

We treat musculoskeletal conditions ranging from headaches to back pain to knee pain, so if you’re looking to be pain free, or just to improve your quality of life, then please do contact us to find out how we can help you.

FAQs

During the initial consultation, we will discuss your pain and symptoms and take a comprehensive case history. Our aim is to find the root cause of the problem to prevent reoccurrence. We will have a look at the area causing pain and ask you to perform some movements to help identify the reason for the pain. We will then provide hands on treatment and set out a clear treatment plan to ensure you are happy.

Please wear loose fitting, comfortable clothing. You are likely to be asked to remove clothing that is covering the painful area for treatment. You are very welcome to wear shorts if it makes you feel more comfortable. Please avoid wearing restrictive clothing, such as sports bras that can’t be undone at the back as they make it harder to access the whole back for treatment.
